There is very little information is available on blocking needlepoint and crewel pieces; most books cover the subject of finishing only briefly, if at all. Too many errors, handed down to us from earlier generations, have been passed on through book after book. Old methods give the needleworker a great deal of difficulty and the results are not worth the effort; modern methods are more efficient, simple and attractive. This book goes into the specific problems of many different articles, from bedroom slippers to wall hangings. The various steps in each are fully illustrated with diagrams and photos. Its purpose is not only to help workers to complete their pieces but also to save them what may amount to considerable expense of having such work done professionally.
