This CD is the first to be issued in a new relationship between Nimbus Records and the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra under John Axelrod. The entire project is being planned in collaboration with the well-known music researcher and former Decca senior producer Michael Haas, who was responsible for that company’s award winning Entartete Musik series. A native of Houston, Axelrod studied with Leonard Bernstein and has appeared with many orchestras including the London Philharmonic and the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
