Cloves are the flower buds of an evergreen tree, has long been cultivated for culinary purposes. However, they were also used in Indian Ayurvedic medicine, Chinese medicine, and western herbalism. They are traditionally used in Northern and Southern Indian cuisine for almost all rich and spicy dishes, it is also used to flavor the broth in Vietnamese cooking.
