Jonas Kaufmann stars in this production of Engelbert Humperdinck's opera. Like Humperdinck's most famous work, 'Hansel and Gretel', the opera offers a modernised version of a fairytale. The production was conducted by Ingo Metzmacher and performed at the Opernhaus in Zurich, with the Orchestra of the Zurich Opera House providing the music.
