Specific Area Message Encoding (SAME) technology allows you to filter out emergency alerts outside of your county. When the SAME alert function is on, the radio will automatically play emergency weather/public alerts for your local area. There are 76 types of alerts, including weather related alerts, civil emergencies, hazards and child abduction alerts. Plus, you can disable alerts that you prefer not to receive.
