In this unique, one-of-a-kind film, renowned dancer & choreographer Antón Gazenbeek invites the viewer into a world of beauty, art and Argentine Tango. This video presents twenty eight exercises for beginner to professional level dancers encompassing elements such as agujas, planeos, enrosques, boleos and more, so as to master all styles of Tango (Traditional & Nuevo). Clear and explicit instruction is given on how to execute these elements properly and the very secrets of their mechanics are revealed. Filmed on location at the Chateau de Versailles, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and numerous other artistic and historical locations around the world, this film is a sumptuous feast for the senses and its goal is to captivate, inspire and stimulate creativity in the viewer.
Why tango technique in sensual spaces? Acquiring technique is challenging. It requires hours of practice to hone your skills. After awhile the routine becomes tedious, especially once you've learned all the moves. But if you don't practice balance, turning, posture, and such grows weaker and harder to achieve. Without technique, challenging moves within the tango vocabulary are impossible to fulfill gracefully, if at all. This DVD seeks to inspire you to keep practicing. My hope is that after working with this DVD for a number of months and once you have down the exercises taught by master tango instructor Antón Gazenbeek, you are inspired to find your own sensual spaces to practice.
I hope this idea of mine inspires you and has you reaping the uncountable joys a person can acquire through masterful dance execution.
Antón Gazenbeek is also available for private and group instruction. You can get more information on this amazing instructor, lecturer, and historian by visiting www.antontango.net.
