THE LENGTH OF TIME A CARTRIDGE LASTS DEPENDS ON SEVERAL FACTORS. THE MOST IMPORTANT IS THE NUMBER OF TIMES CLEANED & HOW, not power washed. In season the cartridge should be cleaned every 4-5 wks. If a lot of debris or algae, the cartridge will need to be cleaned every day until the pool is clear. If not cleaned often the cartridge will collapse. *The swimming season. *The water chemistry. *If the pool is inside a screen. *The number of swimmers, lotions, & pets in the pool, etc. *If the area around the pool is treated for insecticides or fertilized. *Chemicals used to remove phosphates break down the filter media.
