This memoir is a collection of powerful and insightful recovery based information from Steve Colori's experiences with facing and overcoming schizoaffective disorder. The memoir is well-written and personable and provides great insight into the true nature of schizoaffective disorder.Steve informs us why he decided not to take medication and also the reasons he later changed his mind and went back on it. He provides a lucid description of symptoms such as hallucinations, paranoia, OCD, suicidal thoughts, bipolar disorder, mania, insomnia, family issues, and social dysfunction and informs the reader how he worked through and resolved them. The book also details a number of therapies that Steve utilized to overcome the disorder and advance far beyond recovery such as talk therapy, journaling, and exposure therapy. Steve Colori has published eight articles with Oxford Medical Journals, he has been authoring articles for Mclean Hospital since 2011, and he writes regularly for the Health & Wellness and Social Justice columns of The Good Men's Project. Steve has lectured Mclean's Harvard Resident Doctors quarterly since 2012, he recently began lecturing at Simmons College Graduate School, he has lectured at NAMI GBCAN Boston and he has also lectured at Mass General Hospital's Schizophrenia Day.
