Globe amaranth is an all-time flower-gardening favorite.

Rounded colorful flower heads of globe amaranth (Gomphrena globosa) provide showy summer color in shades of pink, purple, lavender and white.
Hybrids with Gomphrena haageana have red and orange flowers.
Grown as an annual in U.S. Department of Agriculture plant hardiness zones 3 through 10, use globe amaranth for borders and edgings.
It makes a fresh cut flower or a dried flower for floral arrangements.
A number of cultivars and hybrids grow easily from seed.
