WHEN TO PLANT
Lacinato Kale - sow from early spring through late summer.
Siberian, Red Russian, and Vates Kale - direct-sow after last hard frost or start transplants at 70-90°F 4-6 weeks before planting date.
GROW PATTERNS AND TIMING
Lacinato Kale - for baby leaf, sow approximately 60 seeds per foot in 2-4" bands with about 2" between bands; for a full-sized crop, sow with a seed spacing of about 1" and a row spacing of around 19".
Siberian Kale - sow ¼ - ½" deep, 60 seeds per foot with about 18-30" between rows.
Red Russian Kale - sow ¼ - ½" deep, 60 seeds per foot with about 18-30" between rows.
Vates Kale - sow ¼ - ½" deep, 60 seeds per foot with about 18-30" between rows.
