Ease of growth makes this an excellent groundcover when planted in humus-rich, moist soil in semi or full shade. White, bell-shaped, very fragrant flowers bloom in late spring. Plant the rhizomes or "pips" in early spring or autumn. Propagate by dividing either after flowering or in autumn. Superb as an addition to a fragrance garden, it is also good as a cut flower.
