A collection of 55 core documents arranged chronologically in two volumes for use in American history courses. From Colonial America to the present, the focus is on public policy and political development. Both a foreword and afterward accompany each document as well as explanatory footnotes. Included in each volume are the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, Bill of Rights, and Amendments (11-26).
