It's the first day of school, and the worst has happened: Arthur's teacher turns out to be Mr. Ratburn, rumored to be a vampire and to make homework assignments every day. Arthur and company temporarily take their fate with downcast eyes in this endearing but wise story about assumptions. Also on the video is "Arthur's Spelling Trubble," in which the young aardvark has the dubious task of representing his school in a spelling bee. --Tom Keogh
