This volume is for those who really wish to make a study of John's Gospel, to know the deeper veins of its great message, and to understand more thoroughly the conflict between belief and unbelief which it sets forth. Three parts make up this book. First there is a consideration of the structure of the Gospel of John. The second, and by far the longest, section is an exposition of the text of the Gospel, taking up the career of Jesus according to the six periods that seem to be suggested by the Gospel writer. Finally, there is a topical analysis of the Gospel, summarizing its contents under several headings, including authorship, vocabulary, signs, symbols, and interviews. A bibliography lists some of the more useful resources that the student may wish to consult.
