Product Review

The author traces the origins of Maltese, Cluny and Bedfordshire bobbin laces from their common ancestor, Italian Genoese lace. The book contains 36 designs which include historical as well as the author's own designs. This book is designed for lacemakers who already have a good working knowledge of the techniques of bobbin lace. Each chapter contains two or three patterns which increase in complexity. Instructions for early patterns are full but become gradually less detailed as the book progresses and the reader's confidence increases. Other books by this author include "Torchon Lace for Today" and "Braid Lace for Today".
