"Thanks be to God, this 'Phantom Raider' Survived!" is a collection of events presented through 286 slides taken during 1967 and 1968 while the author was serving as an Army Helicopter Pilot in Vietnam. The slides and the stories about combat flight missions are described from the viewpoint of the author while flying with C Troop, 1 Sqd/9th Cav, 1st Cavalry Division in II Corp in 1967 and I Corp in 1968. The climax of this collection is reached when the author was shot down on 14 March 1968 near Quang Tri while on a search and destroy mission. It turned out this was his last combat mission! Also included are some of his military experiences prior to and after his tour of duty in Vietnam.
