In this way The New Era of School Counseling: A Practical Guide, is much like its predecessor The New School Counselor: Strategies for Universal Academic Achievement. Also like its predecessor, this text uses a how-to-do-it approach with real world applications that equip school counselors with the knowledge and strategies grounded in ASCA National Model (ASCA, 2012) and deemed essential by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP, 2009). The accompanying CD-ROM provides school counselors with a revised, easy-to-use Microsoft template for action plans and results reports that include the essential elements outlined in the 2012 ASCA National Model. The CD also includes a multitude of forms essential to ethical and legal practices to aid school counselors in meeting the rigorous demands and highest standards of professional practice.
