In 2000, Bring It On hit movie theaters nationwide, presenting a fictitious story focusing on the competitive world of cheerleading and the rivalries it espouses. The stage musical version of the film, featuring music by Tom Kitt and Lin-Manuel Miranda, premiered in Atlanta in 2011, and then ran on Broadway in 2012.
