'Ghar Dar Log' is a a unique experiment in Hindi literature. The novel's 40 stories can be read independently, but the stories are interlinked in such a way that when read continuously they work as a novel. The 116-page book brilliantly presents life in a neighborhood half a century ago as it unveils characters from carpenters to courtyard musicians. The novel's vignettes present deep deep psychological insight into his characters.
