The quilt collection of The Buffalo History Museum represents a history as rich and diverse as that of The Museum. Organized in 1862, The Museum recognized the importance of preserving the cultural legacy of the community. Quilts are part of that legacy. Many came to The Museum with some family history, at times only a name and date. Most were the generous donation of Julia Boyer Reinstein.

This publication is being reissued in conjunction with the current Quilts: Techniques & Styles exhibit, on display 2015-2017.
