Women are not prone to mass murder (even though there are a couple of exceptions to this rule) and that they would more often turn on the immediate family members than on a random stranger. They either murder for financial gain, passion, or in order to defend themselves. If you try to imagine a ruthless killer, you probably don’t think about a typical stay-at-home mom who lives in a suburban home with her husband and three children. But in the autumn of 2005, the residents of Mooresville in North Carolina were very interested in an apparent accidental murder of a police officer that would take a more sinister turn as the investigators dug deeper into the secret life of the Witherspoon family and discovered that nothing was how it seemed. So what drove Misty Witherspoon to commit parricide and stage a murder of her police officer husband in order to look like an unintentional shooting?
