Subtitled Journeys from Alaska Through the Inside Passage, the book is the result of a three-month sea-kayaking expedition from Alaska to Vancouver, British Columbia, through the Pacific Northwest's fabled Inside Passage. Along the way, the author and photographers meet up with salmon fishermen, loggers, and 20th-century pioneers--not to mention the occasional pod of orcas. Images of calving glaciers, fog-shrouded coastlines, and kayaks moving gracefully through cold, glassy water are accompanied by maps and travelogue-style text.
