Alex Demyan is able to capture in images the sensual qualities of the Crescent City: spicy Cajun-Creole soul food; aromatic Southern gardens; blues, gospel, ragtime, zydeco, and jazz music; and sights and sensations of the Mardis Gras parades. Demyan’s style of photography is as eclectic as his subject matter. He creates moody images of low-lit rain-drenched streets and contemplative, artsy shots of people, and he also photographs bright, broad panoramics of cityscapes and fiery sunsets.
