Edgar Rice Burroughs was an American author best known for writing the classic Tarzan and John Carter stories. Burroughs was a prolific writer in many different genres and many of his books have been made into films. Thuvia, Maid of Mars is the fourth novel in the John Carter series. The action centers around Carthoris, the son of John Carter and Dejah Thoris, and Thuvia, the princess of Ptarth.
