The revised edition of Contemporary Field Research responds to social scientists' increasingly widespread interest in ethnographic findings and methods. Emerson offers readers a comprehensive review of core issues in contemporary ethnography, emphasizing the increased acceptance of and growing divergences among current ethnographic approaches. In addition, his introductory coverage addresses concerns central to both earlier periods of field research, particularly those marking the beginnings of the reflexive turn, and those raised by contemporary, more radically representational and postmodern approaches.
