The Pittsburgh Steelers were first called the Pittsburgh Pirates, and played their first seven years as such. It was Art Rooney who renamed them in 1940 to reflect the real enterprise of Pittsburgh, PA. The Steelers are 6-time Super Bowl champs, dominating under Terry Bradshaw in the 1970s, and most recently winning under Ben Roethlisberger in 2008.
