This is the story of the rifles used by the British soldier during World War I -- the Short Magazine Lee-Enfield. The book shows full-length views of rifles, closeups of actions, and parts of all Number 1 series rifles. It also provides a general history of the series, with chapters on each mark, ranging from the Mark I through the Mark VI. Models converted from earlier rifles also are included.
