This exhibition catalog for the influential French artist Philippe Parreno spans a year-long retrospective to be held in five venues: the Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College (New York), Kunsthalle Zurich, Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Irish Museum of Modern Art in Dublin, and the Serpentine Gallery in London. Parreno's wide-ranging, highly experimental work is rooted in Conceptual Art, and ranges across media including film, video, science fiction, art theory and drawing. The catalog focuses on Parreno's recent film, June 8, 1968, which reinterprets Robert F. Kennedy's funeral train procession, as well as No Ghost, Just a Shell, a collaboration between Parreno and Pierre Huyghe. Commentary on program of related events is included, as well as texts by Maria Lind, Tom Eccles, Simon Critchley, Jorn Schaffaff and others.
