Prepare for more star-studded, globe-trotting espionage action in SBS's 2011 IRIS spin-off Athena: Goddess of War. Set in the same murky world as IRIS, Athena rounds up a new cast of agents and terrorists to untangle a dangerous conspiracy threatening national security. This time movie star Jung Woo Sung, appearing in his first TV drama in over a decade, headlines the action thriller as a NSA special agent. His team is pit against the mysterious terrorist group Athena, led by Cha Seung Won in charismatic villain mode. Popular actresses Soo Ae (9 End 2 Outs) and Lee Ji Ah (Beethoven Virus) co-star as their dangerous romantic interests. Athena also rolls out the red carpet for its supporting cast, with Kim Min Jong (A Man Called God) co-starring as a North Korean intelligence agent and Super Junior's Choi Si Won (Oh My Lady!) as a rookie NSA agent. Kim Seung Woo, one of the leads of IRIS, reprises in a supporting role, and IRIS assassin Kim So Yeon makes a cameo. BoA, SHINee, Lee Bo Young, and Dong Bang Shin Ki's Chang Min also make cameo appearances in the drama.
