Silkscreen-printed by hand on handmade paper and attractively packaged, these notecards, featuring artwork from the best-selling book, The Night Life of Trees, make the perfect thoughtful gift. What happens in the forest after darkness falls? Artists from the Gond tribal community in the densely forested region of central India imagine trees as you have never seen them before. From the state of Madhya Pradesh in central India, the Gonds are a community of highly visual people. They surround themselves with their stunning art, which is traditionally painted on the mud floors and walls of their homes. The tree is at the heart of their art, providing a rich source of inspiration. Each boxed set features ten cards — two each of five designs — and ten envelopes, and includes an insert with further information on the artist and artisans involved. Proceeds from the sale of each notecard pack support tribal and folk artists in India, as well as the skilled artisans involved in the printing process.
