Torriti's guide begins in the Piazza del Campo, and then covers each building of importance in the city - the Fonte Gaia, the Palazzo Pubblico, the Palazzo Chigi-Saracini, the Duomo, the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo, the Pinacoteca Nazionale, and the Piazzas dei Salimbeni and Tolomei. In each case the treasures that they contain are described and illustrated. The final chapter explores the Palio and the competing Contrade.
