These performances are excellent--probably the best versions available on period instruments. The Op. 3 concertos have far less of a reputation than the composer's Op. 6, largely because of their patchwork construction. The players of Tafelmusik achieve what all great performances manage--they make the music sound better than it probably is. Or maybe they simply realize its latent qualities. Either way, it makes for great listening. --David Hurwitz
