With its parade of pimps, madams, hustlers, call girls, informers and cops, you quickly catch on that nothing can be trusted. Everybody lies. It's 'Rashomon' deep-fried in sleaze - hypnotic and wretchedly funny. Like many of the people Broomfield approaches, they take stock of his milquetoast manner and underestimate him. Big mistake.
