Animated action requires music that moves in supernatural fashion as well. Smash Mouth's "All Star" seems even more appropriately defined in this context as the theme song and rallying cry for these psychotically staring superheroes. Other established hits, such as Fatboy Slim's "The Rockafeller Skank" (here in a short edit) and Barenaked Ladies' "One Week," make this a compendium of hits from the end of the millennium. Len's reinterpretation of Kim Wilde's "Kids in America" updates it for the new century as well. Also here are songs written specifically for the show. "Digi Rap" and "Hey Digimon" are two tracks destined for the novelty bins as curious period pieces. The album comes with several pages of artwork and listings for--what else?--more Digimon merchandise. --Rob O'Connor
