Alex, a talented street fighter and thief, ends up in a tortuous prison camp after stealing an ancient ceremonial sword from wealthy Malaysian businessman Leung. While there, Alex meets Sun, who teaches him humility, self-respect and the deadliest of all fighting disciplines : The Iron Hand. Alex also learns the meaning of honor, and promises Sun that upon his release from prison, he will fight in the Kumite.
