Regular CLEAR JEL is the only thickener the USDA recommends for use in home-canning of fruit pie fillings. It does not break down and become thin when used in home-canned pie fillings. Manufacturer recommends CLEAR JEL as an equal replacement for cornstarch in uncanned pie fillings baked at home. Each bag contains 1lb of CLEAR JEL which is 3 - 3 1/2 cups.
