The herb is nutritive and soothing to itchy, flaky skin and is used in baths, lotions and skin washes. It also makes a comforting herbal tea. Botanical Name: Avenal sativa L. Directions: To prepare as a tea, pour 8 oz. boiling water over 1-2 teaspoons of herb. Cover and steep for 5-10 minutes, strain and serve immediately. Product Notes: Our flowering green oat straw includes both the immature grain and stalk portion of the plant. It has a faint, fresh, green aroma and an herbaceous flavor free of any musty notes.
