The live center is held in the lathe tailstock. It has a 60° tapered center that rotates on a ball bearing to support stock hedl between centers. By rotating with the part, the center caused no friction or heat buildup as might occur with a non-rotating or "dead" center. Desgned for use on a Sherline or other lathe that has a #0 Morse taper in the tailstock spindle.
