George Benjamin was named one of England's leading composers in 1980 when he became the youngest composer to have one of his works, 'Ringed by the Flat Horizon,' played at a BBC Proms concert. 'At First Light' has become a repertory piece around the world. Benjamin has taught at the Royal College of Music and is now professor of composition at King's College, London.
