Known as the "young bucks" of the Tex-Mex or the conjunto sound, Los Tex-Maniacs shake up the traditional accordion/bajo sexto sound with some big name guest artists on their debut CD. Those artists include members of Los Lobos, Flaco Jimenez, Ruben Ramos and South Texas legend Augie Meyers. The music on the CD covers the gamut. You've got souped-up early '60s rock numbers like "She's About A Mover" next to traditional tunes like "Dos Corazones." The overall sound on the CD takes the traditional accordion sounds, started by players like Santiago Jimenez Sr. in the early parts of the 1900s, into the 21st century.
