The Seefestspiele Mörbisch has been the Austrian summer home of all things Johann Strauss for nearly sixty years. This Mörbisch production of Strauss Die Zigeunerbaron (The Gypsy Baron), which since its 1885 premiere has been superseded in its worldwide popularity only by Die Fledermaus, features a cast including Peter Edelmann as Graf Homonay, Heinz Zednik as Conte Carnero, Martina Serafin as Saffi, Harrie van der Plas as Sándor Bárinkay and Helmut Berger-Tuna as Kálman Zsupán. Rudolf Bibl leads the Symphonie-Orchester Burgenland.
