The Concorde was one of the greatest technological achievements that humankind has ever produced. The only passenger aircraft to fly at twice the speed of sound, this supersonic plane was created during a phase in America’s history where economics took a back seat to national prid and achievement. Every phase of its creation was drenched in controversy reminiscent of an ancient Greek tragedy. In the end, its time in service was much shorter than its creators and the dreamers amongst us would have ever imagined.
