What better way to inaugurate Ace's series of CDs, taken directly from the original acetates of King and De Luxe Records, than with 24 of the classic early recordings of one of R&B's most legendary names? With the exception of 2 tracks (for which the acetates did not survive), this contains at least one version of every track from every session that Roy Brown cut during 1947. It's long been believed that most of these versions were destroyed in a warehouse fire in 1948. They are being heard publicly for the first time since they were recorded!
