The Black Diamond ATC-XP is an updated version of the belay device that sets all standard for rock climbing and mountaineering. The XP Version is 30% lighter than the original and has 2 friction modes - a "standard" mode that works similarly to the classic ATC, and a "high friction" mode for 3 times the hold and stopping power.
