The Miller Dowel 2X is designed for joining wood up to 1 5/8" thick. The wide variety of dowels gives woodworkers the opportunity to blend similar woods or design combinations that contrast different species. The 2X is ideal for use in wood projects where thicker wood is preferred for added strength such as in bedframes, decking, cabinetry, tables and shelving. And the 2X can serve as an effective, simple and easy alternative to traditional blind dowels, biscuits or mortise and tenon joinery. The Miller Dowel 2X Joinery Kit includes 50 birch dowels and a TruFit® drill bit made of industrial strength high speed steel. The drill bit and bags of 40, 100 and 500 dowels of each species are also sold separately.
