Synopsis:

For Rai Sahib Amar Nath Kapoor the only important thing in the world is money. He was so busy in his business, that he could not spare a few minutes to fulfill the last wish his wife. Before dying, she left her child, Vicky, in the lap of Munshiji, who is the childhood friend of Rai Sahib, but treated as a servant. Whenever Vicky disturbs the night parties or days business meetings of Rai Sahib, he is given two spoons of brandy and put to intoxicating sleep. Missing the affectionate care of his mother & father, Vicky had turned into a drunkard by the age of 12.Vicky had regard only for the sympathetic Munshiji who has been more than father & mother to him.

After growing up Vicky started restoring the hutment colonies of the poor & backwards. He even falls in love with a poor girl Meena" who is a singer & dancer in a theatre. But Rai Sahib disapproves his son's soft corner for the poor.
Rai Sahib disinherits Vicky from his properties and throws Vicky into the pavements. Meena cannot escape the evil designs of the theatre organizer Natwar Shah. Vicky wouldn't get sleep without drinking & that is why for one bottle Munshiji labors & looses his own life.
