Featuring an incredible array of the greatest musicians of the 1970s and early 80s, The Midnight Special stands alone in the history of rock 'n' roll as the first ever late-night concert show on TV, capturing the spirit of a time when rock was exploding in so many new, exciting directions. For nine thrilling years, The Midnight Special brought audiences the very best live music from every genre - rare performances right into homes every week - complete with the intimacy of close-ups and multiple camera angles that placed you right there with the on-stage action. It was an exciting time, and it's now been restored and re-mastered in this exclusive series. FEATURING THESE LIVE PERFORMANCES FROM 1975: The Bee Gees.....Nights On Broadway Peter Frampton.....Show Me the Way Helen Reddy.....I Am Woman KC & The Sunshine Band.....That's The Way I Like It Rod Stewart.....You Wear It Well Earth, Wind & Fire.....Shining Star Orleans.....Dance With Me Natalie Cole.....This Will Be (an Everlasting Love) Barry Manilow.....Could It Be Magic Ohio Players.....Love Rollercoaster Olivia Newton-John.....Have You Never Been Mellow Glen Campbell.....Rhinestone Cowboy Aretha Franklin & Ray Charles.....It Takes Two To Tango Minnie Riperton.....Lovin' You Kiss.....Black Diamond PLUS - Live Stand Up Comedy From David Steinberg and Jack Burns & Avery Schreiber! This truly is an amazing DVD to see. For me it's been really cool to see these bands performing while just beginning, what in many cases, turned out to be legendary careers. The groovy outfits and hair can be quite amusing as well! Particular favorites are seeing a very young Barry Manilow, a very funky, afro-clad, Natalie Cole and of course seeing Aretha singing with Ray Charles! Also, Kiss is quite entertaining with their use of pyrotechnics...And clearly, seeing Helen Reddy sing "I Am Woman" is a delight :) Factory sealed "New"!!!
