Shift-Work, the Fall's second album for Fontana, is an edgy, accomplished and melodic work. Reflecting Mark E Smith's desire to make a simple album that was 'a bit more relevant to ordinary people' the band had been stripped down to a four-piece for the first time in it's career. The new tightness energized Smith and so produced a tremendous, critically acclaimed album that reached number 17 in the UK charts. Includes a 12 page booklet containing extensive sleeve notes, images and memorabilia. Universal.
