Academy Award winner John Wayne stars as Karl Ehrlich, the heroic Prussian captain of a German freighter outward bound from Sydney, Australia, at the start of World War II. Opposed to the Nazis and at war with the British, Ehrlich and his crew are hunted by both sides.
