Marcos (Pedro Armendáriz) is an arrogan jai-alai player who prefers his rich girlfriend Sara over Rebeca, whom he has gotten pregnant. Rebeca’s brother Armando owes money to Marcial, a gambler and a cheater, over some jai-alai bets. Marcos tries to convince Rebeca to have an abortion and she almost commits suicide, but her brother saves her. Marcial blackmails Marcos over the situation with Rebeca and Armando and Marcos agrees to throw a game which he ends up winning. Marcial and his thugs beat up Marcos, who goes to Sara’s house to get money from her to pay off Marcial. In a struggle over some jewels, Sara is shot to death. Marcos runs away and catches a plane, which, unknown to him, Rebeca has also taken. While Marcos sleeps, Rebeca shoots him and kills him.
